Easter

Easter this year was a lot of fun. It started with an egg hunt during playgroup of Easter week. We let the little kids go first and Scarlett loved it. She quickly figured out how to open the eggs. She's like her mother in the fact that she doesn't like coconut or licorice jelly beans. She'd try them and then let them dribble out of her mouth and move on to the next jelly bean. She's a real fan of candy.
The big kids made quick work of the eggs left from the little kids. Nate had a blast. I really love how this picture captured his real excitement to go egg hunting.
Easter morning was so much fun. The Easter Bunny left baskets full of treats and pool toys and lots of puzzles and dinosaurs for Nate. Scarlett got her own sunglasses and more eggs. Best day ever!
We rarely take pictures of ourselves with the kids and recently my mom gave me grief about it. We figured the kids looked great all dressed up in their new Easter Sunday clothes and so we took some pics with the kids before we left for church that morning. Robert is such a great dad and I think dads always look so good when they are with their kids. They're so cute.
Scarlett got lots of compliments on her Easter dress. Someone told me she looked like a porcelain doll. I have to agree. I also think Nate looks so dapper in his suit. How did he grow up to be so tall so fast???
We had a great Easter and it seems like every year we make a little headway in getting the kids to understand the meaning of the day. That Easter Bunny really confuses, but Nate understood this year that Jesus rose from the dead. Next year we're going to work on what that means for us. Now if only we could explain why an Easter Bunny lays eggs. Any thoughts???

Erin- you have the cutest little family! You look gorgeous by the way! I have to agree on the confusion with the Easter Bunny and all the hoopla:) If you ever come up with an answer to the question about the Easter bunny laying eggs, feel free to pass it on:)
