It was a relatively quick visit from my family, but we were able to pack in a lot of fun. I hope they come and visit us again soon!

The Children's Museum with David, Abby and Riley
As my family's visit to Houston drew to a close, we decided to take the kids to the Children's Museum for the afternoon. It was the first time David, Abby and Riley had been to a children's museum and I think we did a good job showing them how amazing it is to live in a city with one.
Our first stop every time we visit is the booth where the kids can draw on their own face paint. Nate always does a pink nose and whiskers.
There's a little puppet theater upstairs and Nate put on a show for us.
The show was mostly the alligator chomping on the turtle and then the turtle chomping on the alligator. Amazing entertainment.
Nate loves the museum. He especially loves to go with smaller kids so he can show them around. This is a favorite game he plays with Scarlett. Scarlett didn't go with us that day. She stayed home and napped while Robert worked from home.
Downstairs there's an area that Scarlett loves because of the twinkling lights, the smaller game areas and the music she can play. We had to take Riley down there to see if she'd like it too. She was a bit timid and held on to her daddy's hand.
Nate was smelling things and trying to guess what they were. Here, he's smelling oregano. He actually looked at me and said it smelled like something I cook with at home. Smart kid.
David and Nate built a motorized Lego car. It was really fun. It was great to see Nate working with his Uncle David and doing some problem solving.
When we got to the museum they were letting kids decorate their own gingerbread men. Nate finished his pretty quickly and wanted to chow down. Look at the gingerbread man's face. I don't think he liked the idea. Nate quoted Shrek 2 over and over while enjoying his cookie.
The cookie before it's demise.
Decorating the cookie.
Riley enjoying her cookie and her mom's lap.
It was a relatively quick visit from my family, but we were able to pack in a lot of fun. I hope they come and visit us again soon!
